• "Among sharks"

Finally summer is here! With it, the beach, the sea, and some sea monsters come back to fill our thoughts and some news...
And "Among sharks" is a SEI's lecture to be held at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon, in Portugal.
Not long ago, a specimen of a great shark was caught less than 20 miles off Sesimbra, Portugal. What animal species was that? Where did it come from and what was it doing in those waters?
About a year ago, two sharks were spotted in Portinho da Arrábida, south of Lisbon, swimming even under the verandas of the local restaurants and sowing panic in some social networks.
Every year, as the summer approaches, some of the world's best shark experts travel to the Azores to seek dive with Blue Sharks, with less and less success.
With this presentation we want to emphasize the place where we live, and the sea that surrounds us, undoing myths and valuing biodiversity as the basis for a sustainable and lasting future.
